Meet Bella
Chihuahua · 8 years · ~5 lbs · Alabama → Lower Manhattan (Arriving July 18)
For eight years, Bella had what most dogs only dream of: an elderly owner who adored her completely, held her constantly, and made her the undisputed center of their world. She was never just a pet — she was a pocket-sized companion, a daily comfort, the kind of small dog that fits perfectly into the crook of an arm and stays there, content, for hours.
When her beloved owner passed after an illness, the family made a loving and heartbreaking decision: they couldn't offer Bella the devotion she had always known, and they cared too much about her to pretend otherwise. So here she is — all five pounds of her, dressed to the nines in polka dots, ready for a second chapter that honors everything her first one was.
Bella is not looking for a busy household or a life spent waiting by the door. She's looking for a person. Someone who works from home and wouldn't mind a five-pound shadow in their lap through every Zoom call. Someone who's been looking for a reason to buy a dog sling and tote their tiny companion everywhere they go. Someone who understands that for a dog like Bella, proximity isn't neediness — it's just how she loves.
She'll need some time to adjust to a new schedule and new surroundings — that's only natural for a girl whose whole world recently changed. And yes, house training is still a work in progress. But who says you can't teach an old girl new tricks? Bella has spent nine years being loved well. She knows how this is supposed to go. She just needs someone to show her the new ropes.
Bella arrived in this world as someone's greatest joy. She is ready — polka dot skirt and all — to be yours.
