Meet Serenity - A Heart Full of Love, Just Waiting for Her Person

Some dogs are happy to be everybody's dog. Serenity is looking for something a little more special: her person. The moment this beautiful 3-year-old, 40-pound black Lab mix decides you're her human, her heart is all in. She bonds quickly and deeply, and there's nothing she loves more than curling up beside you, snuggling close, and looking up at you with those adoring eyes that seem to say, "Are you really mine?"

Serenity is a sweet, playful girl with a gentle soul and an eagerness to please that makes her an absolute joy to work with. Her foster has already discovered that she is very smart and highly trainable-in just a few days, she has picked up some basic commands and is eager to learn more. Serenity doesn't just want to know what you're asking of her; she wants to get it right. Making her person happy and proud is pretty much her favorite thing in the world.

Serenity tested low positive for heartworm but has already begun treatment, which will be fully covered by the rescue. The rescue will make sure Serenity is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines. This great young girl appears to be house-trained, too! She had a couple of little accidents during her first day with her foster, but they seemed to be excitement-related and haven't been an ongoing issue.

Serenity does have one important quirk: she LOVES her meals-and she eats like she's worried someone might take them away! A slow-feeder bowl is a must for this enthusiastic girl. It's hard not to wonder if her urgency around food comes from a time in her past when she didn't always know where her next meal was coming from. Whatever the reason, Serenity is learning that in her foster home, there will always be enough.
When it comes to other dogs, Serenity may be happiest as your one-and-only canine companion, or with a dog who is introduced to her slowly and thoughtfully. She has so much love to give her humans that she certainly doesn't need another dog to complete her world.

What Serenity really needs is someone who will appreciate the incredibly devoted companion she is becoming-a person who will continue her training, give her the security she deserves, and let her be close enough to gaze lovingly into their eyes whenever she needs a little reassurance.
Because Serenity isn't asking for much.
A safe home. A loving human. A full food bowl. A soft place to sleep. And someone who will finally show her that she is home.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
