Oliver is an approximately 2 year old Poodle/Bichon X mill survivor who weighs 10 pounds. He has been neutered and is up to date on all his shots. During his examination a slight heart murmur was detected and an ultrasound was completed. There are no concerns about his heart. It was also noted that he has luxating patella in his back legs which has only shown up during examination and does not require surgery. When watching him run around the house and in the backyard you wouldn't know there are any issues. He has also had a dental cleaning where 2 teeth were removed but other than that there were no concerns.
Although still very shy and somewhat unsure of people's intent, Oliver is blossoming into a sweet, and very lovable character who loves being with his foster family. He is well behaved when meeting new people but has not yet been in the company of children. While he has come a long way, he still needs more practice walking on a leash and is only comfortable going for short walks close to home. He is almost housetrained, rarely having accidents and he is often uses a pee pad when necessary. Oliver knows the commands come and stay and is starting to take treats from my hand. He is a good traveler in the car, enjoying watching the world go by or having a nap.
Oliver can be a fussy eater and is currently on a special diet for his sensitive stomach. He loves treats and will wait patiently for them. If he doesn't like what you are offering him he will turn away. Currently he is on both kibble and wet food.
Sleeping on the bed curled up close beside his person, Oliver sleeps soundly through the night sometimes snoring. He also enjoys sleeping in his own bed burying his nose into the side. Sleeping on his back is his second favorite position and you may sometimes wake up to his head beside you on the pillow.
A home with a backyard and people around most of the day would be the ideal forever home for this wonderful treasure with so much love to give.
