Obtained From: At 8 weeks from a farm that had show Springer Spaniels and field Springer Spaniels.
Reason for Intake: Busy with work, a 17 month old, and another child on the way.

Good with dogs: Yes. He has lived with multiple dogs in the past, male and female, including Spaniels and a Lab/Rotti mix and done well with them.

Good with cats: Yes. He is living with 2 cats and is good with them.

Good with kids: He is living with a 17 month old and is OK with them. He is described as indifferent to them and will walk away to avoid the child.
Good with strangers: Yes. He sometimes barks when new people come to the door and come in but it is usually short lived. He is very friendly with new people.
Resource guarding issues: None seen from people or other dogs. In the past he has grumbled when the cats were around him at his food bowl but he didn't do anything more than that.

Leash skills: He walks well on leash. He may walk in front and be eager to sniff smells. He ignores some dogs and appropriately greets others.
Okay with physical handling/manipulations: Yes. They can bathe him, brush him, and trim his nails. He is friendly with vet staff.

Food on now: Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein. 2 scoops, 2x/day.

Behavioural issues: He is described as an active dog and overly friendly.
Medical issues: He has allergies and skin issues that are under control with the vet prescribed food and medication. They have worked with a dermatologist specialist to find what works for him. He takes Zenrelia 15 mg/day and Dexamethasone 2.5 pills every 3rd day. The cost of those 2 meds is approximately $4/day. They also have Cortavance Topical spray for itching and Mometamax for ear infections.
