We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Meet Kensy! This sweet 3-year-old, 46 lb Belgian Malinois mix was rescued from an overcrowded Houston shelter and has been blossoming more and more every day. She is spayed, vaccinated, fully house and crate trained, and ready to find her forever family!

Kensy is an incredibly intelligent, active, and affectionate girl who forms deep bonds with her person. While she can be a little unsure when meeting strangers, once she trusts you, she is incredibly loving and devoted. She is also wonderfully well-behaved in public and takes new experiences in stride.

Kensy is respectful and non-confrontational with other dogs and expects the same in return. She does well with dogs of all breeds and sizes and is neutral and non-reactive when passing dogs on leash. She isn't especially playful with other dogs, but she has become much more confident around them since her rescue. She has shown no signs of resource guarding, although she is fed separately from her foster siblings as a precaution.

This girl has energy to spare and absolutely loves to play! Kensy could happily play fetch for hours and would thrive with a family who enjoys staying active and can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation. She walks beautifully on leash without pulling, loves to swim, has no issues with stairs, and rides well in the car with a seatbelt.

Kensy will need an active, experienced home with a yard and continued support with general obedience. Because she is a smart working-breed dog with plenty of energy, an owner familiar with Malinois or similar breeds would be ideal. She would also prefer a home where she isn't left alone all day. Her crate training is excellent, although she is quite clever and determined enough to escape a standard crate, so a secure, heavy-duty crate will be needed.

Kensy is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but can be transported to an approved adopter.

Kensy is a special girl with so much love, personality, and potential to give. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her intelligence, keep her busy, earn her trust, and let her be the wonderful, loyal companion she is meant to be. Could you be her forever person?
