We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Rascal is a 6 month old, 52lbs neutered and vaccinated Staffie mix who was rescued from the streets of Texas, where a kind local woman had been looking out for him. He’s a sweet, cuddly boy who loves toys, affection, and having his people close by.
Rascal has a moderate puppy energy level and really enjoys playing with other dogs, especially bigger pups—most of his playmates have been 60+ lbs! He also appreciates his downtime and is perfectly happy to settle in for some cozy cuddle time. While he loves canine friends, he can be shy and unsure when meeting new dogs, so slow, calm, and controlled introductions will help him feel comfortable.
Rascal is also a little shy when meeting new people and can be fearful of strangers at first. He tends to warm up more quickly to women and children, while men may need to earn his trust with a little extra patience. Once he feels safe and loved, though, his sweet and affectionate personality truly shines. He is kid-friendly with children of all ages and would love a family who enjoys giving lots of love and cuddles.
This handsome boy is fully potty trained and crate trained for up to 8 hours, although he doesn’t particularly love his crate and has shown some mild anxiety while being confined. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and continued training, this is something he should be able to work through. He will also benefit from continued leash training, especially when it comes to calmly passing other dogs.
Rascal would thrive in a loving, moderate-energy home where he won’t be left alone for long periods and where he can continue building his confidence at his own pace. A friendly, well-matched canine companion would be a wonderful bonus for him! He’s comfortable with stairs and does well in the car, although loud TVs can sometimes startle him and send him looking for a quiet, safe spot.
Rascal is such a lovable young pup with so much potential. He just needs someone willing to be patient, gentle, and consistent while he learns that the world is a safe place. Give him a little time, love him generously, and you’ll have a sweet, cuddly companion who will be so happy to call you home.
Rascal is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but can be transported to an approved adopter.
