We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Meet Ivy, an 8 year old Staffie/Pittie mix who is simply a precious, sweet-natured girl looking for her forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, and described by her foster mom as “perfect.” Ivy is incredibly loving, cuddly, loyal, smart, and people-oriented, and she would happily spend her days soaking up attention, cuddles, and treats. Ivy is currently being fostered in HOUSTON, Texas but can be transported to an approved adopter.

Ivy is a mellow girl at heart, although she still gets the occasional puppy-like burst of energy! She absolutely adores people and is 100% kid-friendly, happily snuggling up beside her foster’s toddler. She can get very excited when greeting people and may jump up to say hello, but she is easily redirected. She is also perfectly content to free-roam the house and has shown no destructive or anxious behaviours.

When it comes to other dogs, Ivy is wonderfully polite and has very clear body language. If she wants to say hello or play, her excitement is obvious—her tail starts wagging like crazy! If she’s not feeling social, she simply continues on her way and politely ignores them. She seems very good at reading other dogs’ cues and has enjoyed playing with dogs her size or smaller. Ivy has also shown interest in cats and may do well with a slow, proper introduction.

Ivy isn’t particularly interested in toys and has minimal training when it comes to commands, but she is a quick learner and eager to please, so we think she would pick up new skills easily. She has no issues with stairs, rides beautifully in the car, and we’ve seen absolutely no signs of resource guarding.

Honestly, Ivy is a bit of a unicorn dog. She has the kind of easygoing, peaceful temperament that could allow her to fit into so many different types of homes—kids, other dogs, and plenty of love included. Because she is such a social, people-loving girl, she would be happiest with a family where someone is home for at least half of the day, if not most of it.

Ivy deserves nothing less than a golden retirement filled with love, cozy naps, cuddles, treats, and a family who will cherish her. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just wants to be by your side, Ivy might be your girl.
