Melissa’s past may be heartbreaking, but her heart is still overflowing with love.
At 5 years old, and 21 pounds this Beagle was rescued from a hoarding situation where she and her siblings spent their lives chained outside. Some are missing teeth from chewing on their chains and eating food from the concrete. Despite everything she has been through, Melissa continues to greet life with sweetness, happiness and so much love to give.
Melissa is a true lap dog who absolutely loves being close to her people. She will happily curl up with you, soak up all the affection she can get and simply enjoy knowing someone is by her side. Once she gets to know you, you have a loyal best friend who will shower you with love every chance she gets.
She loves kids and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her a sweet companion for a family with plenty of love to share. Melissa has a happy spirit and continues to spread joy everywhere she goes, proving that her past will never take away her ability to love.
She is also learning how to walk on a leash and discovering all the new experiences that come with being a beloved family dog. Every walk, cuddle and adventure is another exciting part of the life ahead of her.
Melissa has already overcome so much, and now she is ready for the chapter she has always deserved. One filled with warm laps, soft beds, new adventures and a forever family who will love her just as much as she will love them.
Melissa is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
