Meet Ms Maisey! This gorgeous girl has waited awhile and is now ready for her adoptive home. Maisey was surrendered by an individual who took her from living in a nearby barn. She arrived in rescue and it was discovered she was heartworm positive. Masiey has endured the terrible process to rid her body of heartworms and is now ready to live it up. Maisey is a beautiful black bi Australian Shepherd who is approximately 2-3 years of age and about 45 lbs.

This little diva is goergeous and she knows it. She is crate trained, but so good she doesn't necessarily need a crate given her stellar house manners. She is potty trained and will cue using a bell at the door. She LOVES people and will follow them around. She has been around cats in the past and good with children 8 years or older. Maisey also has mastered a few obedience commands despite being a little finicky about her treats.

Maisey's recall is fabulous (once she is bonded). She is still working on leash training as she does not like being guided by her collar and so her foster home is continuing the positive training in this area. Maisey is a lower energy girl and truly needs someone who will be home more often than not. This is a requirement of her adoptive home.

Maisey has experienced heartworm treatment, which is a very uncomfortable process for dogs. Masiey will require an adopter who understands her need and requirement to always maintain heartworm prevention year round.

The Australian Shepherd is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog known for its loyalty and work ethic. Originating in the United States, despite its name, this breed is prized for its agility, trainability, and versatility in various dog sports and activities. Australian Shepherds have a distinctive medium length coat that comes in different colors, often with unique merle patterns. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, these dogs make excellent companions for active families and individuals seeking a devoted and playful four legged friend.
