Meet Ruby! Ruby is a stunning blue merle female Australian Shepehrd with a big beautiful tail and a fluffy coat to match her beauty. She was born 11/1/2024 and currently weighs 33 lbs. Ruby returned to rescue to find a suitable foster home that is equipped to match her personality.

Ruby would LOVE to be the one and only in her home. While she exists in homes with other dogs, she is a bit of a "bossy aussie" and she has a bit of prey drive for smaller creatures (i.e. no cats, no small dogs). Ruby thrives with one-on-one attention and has some very nice obedience training behind her, but she will require an aussie savvy adopter who has skills and is willing to continue her training and not allow her to become "the boss" of the house, meaning she will need a strong leader in her home, or she will lead, and sometimes an Aussie left to their own devices can make poor choices.

Ruby is crate trained and house trained. Ruby is a master at leash walking. She does well with grooming and she also has wonderful house manners. She will need someone committed to socialization and would make an excellent candidate for someone wanting to run, bike or do dog sports (agility, flyball, herding practice, dock diving, etc).

Ruby is highly food and praise motivated. A fenced-in yard would be ideal. We do recommend a home with children over 10 years of age. She does play with toys, including stuffies, fetch and tug. Ruby is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.
