DESCRIPTION

***Kimi must have a young, playful cat friend in her forever home.

Kimi is a gentle older kitten who was rescued from a neighbourhood colony after repeatedly visiting a kind feeder’s porch. Life outside meant competing with many other cats — young and old — for food and safety, and she learned to survive by staying quiet and cautious.

Since coming into foster care, Kimi has made steady, heart-warming progress. She is still timid. There were a few occasions where her foster was able to get her into a cat apron. After a few minutes she relaxes and enjoys the soft petting she never had the chance to experience outdoors. Her confidence grows a little more each week.

Kimi adores other cats. She eagerly approaches the resident foster cats, chatting to them and hoping to make friends. They’re older and not interested in playing, but Kimi’s enthusiasm shows how much she longs for a feline companion who will welcome her. She’s curious about toys — especially the laser pointer — and has started making tentative attempts to play, slowly discovering what it means to feel safe enough to have fun.

She eats wet food with gusto and isn’t very interested in kibble, likely a habit formed during her time outdoors when she relied on whatever food she could find.

Kimi will thrive in a calm, patient home that understands shy cats and celebrates small victories. She must be adopted with a friendly young cat or into a home that already has one — she truly blossoms around feline friends and needs that companionship to feel secure and continue her progress.

Kimi is ready for someone who can offer her kindness, stability, and a gentle path toward the playful, affectionate young cat she’s becoming.

Would you like to make Kimi a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.
