**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens**
Hunter is a sweet and expressive boy who looks surprised a lot of the time. He seems to really be listening when you talk to him. He is bonded with colony sister Heart and they have to be adopted together. They are great companions for each other, playmates, wrestling partners, and partners in crime.
These two are currently untouchables. They have grown to be happy in close proximity to their foster, including right beside or at her feet, but dash away if any petting or touching is suggested. They are thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining to have around for someone who doesn’t have the desire or need for a lap cat or cuddle cat.
In his foster home, Hunter is getting over his food insecurity with dry food available all the time in addition to the wet food at meal times he so loves. He does well with the slow feeder bowl and in fact sometimes flings out dry food bits from a regular bowl with his paws to eat beside the bowl.
You will have to make sure all food, even that which you suspect cats wouldn’t be interested in, is properly put away. He and Heart have been known to eat some people food they shouldn’t have, including right through the packaging.
This food focus also means he may be very trainable for someone interested in taking the time. Hunter’s foster mom has used treats to help him overcome his fear of humans. He’s now very interested in anything she may be unwrapping! He’ll take treats, especially unseasoned chicken or egg bits gently out of her hand. Churus and Delectables are big hits too!
Hunter has impeccable litter box habits.
Hunter loves to play! Either alone or with Heart, he relishes a game of soccer with cat toys like springs and mousies, and enjoys the trackballs turntable too. Hunter also basks at a sunny window in his downtime.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, first-round of age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption, flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.
Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it’s twice the fun for you, and half the work!
