Meet Cabbage — the sweetest little veggie in the garden!
Cabbage is a gentle, friendly girl with a quieter personality who likes to take a little time to get to know her people.
She's not necessarily going to march through the front door and immediately take over the kitchen. Cabbage is more of a “let me check you out first” kind of gal. Give her a little time to settle in, though, and you'll start seeing the sweet girl underneath.
And if you'd like to speed up negotiations, Cabbage would like you to know that she is HIGHLY treat motivated.
Churu? You have her attention.
Temptations bag? She's listening.
Something especially delicious? Perhaps the two of you can do business.
Cabbage would likely be happiest in a quieter home, perhaps without young children or with older, cat-savvy kids who will give her the space she needs to get comfortable. She's currently fostered with her colony mate Cauliflower and enjoys having a familiar feline friend nearby.
Cabbage came to us from a TNR site in Longview, Mississippi, along with Cauliflower and Broccoli. One of our CVM doctors asked Operation Colony Cats to help an elderly gentleman who had recently become homeless and was caring for more than 34 cats on his property.
That's one very crowded vegetable garden.
Now Cabbage is safely in foster care, learning all about the comforts of indoor life and getting ready for something she's never had before: a permanent home of her own.
She doesn't need someone looking for instant gratification. She needs someone who understands that the best relationships are worth cultivating.
Give this sweet girl a little time, a little patience, and perhaps a strategic supply of treats, and watch her blossom.
Cabbage just might become your favorite veggie of all.
All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
