Penny FKA Sadie - Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Groveland, Massachusetts

Penny is a soft, gentle Shepherd girl, who looks at you with big doe eyes asking for you to love and understand her. When you walk in the room or get home, Penny will greet you with dainty tail wags and maybe even a big rollover stretch for tummy rubs! With her foster, she is enjoying morning walks in the woods and would be a great hiking buddy. She's great when meeting other dogs, as well.


Penny is a true shepherd in that she can sometimes overthink things and get overwhelmed! But don't worry, when she does, she'll quietly put herself in her crate or whichever corner of your home she feels comfy in (at her foster's, it's the bed!).


Penny is currently fostered with two other adult dogs and does wonderfully. She doesn't guard anything, she reads their cues, and she walks well with them on leash. Penny is crate trained and will easily go in the crate when you need to leave the house, and wait quietly for your return. She also sleeps quietly through the night in a crate, if desired. She is non-reactive to other dogs on walks and has lived with a cat.

Because of her more timid nature, Penny would do best in a low traffic home with quieter neighborhoods in the immediate surroundings. Older kids who understand her gentle love would be optimal, as well as patient men.

Penny is hoping to find the one who will love her for who she is: A thoughtful, sensitive lady who will nuzzle you and curl up your arms to show you she loves you back.
