Temperament & Personality

Ushi is a sweet, loving, affectionate 2-year-old Terrier mix who is ready to find his forever family.

At just 22 pounds, he is a great smaller-sized companion with a wonderful foundation for life in a

home.

This little guy has already done so much of the hard work! Ushi is housebroken, kennel trained,

comfortable on a leash, and has completed formal basic obedience training. He has good

manners and a solid foundation that should help make his transition into a new home easier.

Ushi loves being around people and is friendly with children. He also does well with other dogs

and currently shares his foster space comfortably with other rescue dogs. More than anything,

Ushi is affectionate and loves being part of the action. He is ready to trade his foster life for a

family of his very own.

Ushi's Ideal Home

Ushi would thrive with a family who will make him a true part of their everyday life. He would

love plenty of companionship, affection, and continued reinforcement of the training and good

manners he has already learned.

Because he is good with people, children, and other dogs, Ushi could fit into many different

types of homes. He could potentially live with cats as well, although he has not been officially

cat tested, so slow and thoughtful introductions would be necessary.

Above all, Ushi is looking for a committed family who will give him the security and love he

deserves.

Ushi's Rescue Story

Ushi's story began on the side of a busy highway in Mexico. He was found walking along the highway to Chapala, skinny, hungry, and terribly neglected. His

coat was so severely matted that it had formed dreadlocks. Cars continued to pass him by, and

to everyone else, he seemed invisible—until the right person finally saw him.

His rescuer immediately pulled over. She didn't hesitate to help, and from that moment forward,

Ushi's life began to change.

Ushi received the veterinary care, proper nutrition, grooming, love, and attention he desperately

needed. His rescuer didn't stop there—she also enrolled him in basic obedience classes, giving

him the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and prepare for life as a beloved family

dog.

Ushi went from being a hungry, neglected little dog wandering alone along a highway to a

healthy, happy, trained companion with so much love to give.

His rescuer gave him his second chance. Now he just needs the final piece of his journey: a

family who will make sure he never feels invisible again.

Ready to Bring Ushi Home?

Ushi is currently waiting in Mexico and can travel to the PNW once he has a committed trial

adoption family.

His adoption fee is $650.
