Temperament/Personality
Brooklyn is a happy, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent puppy who learns quickly and loves
connecting with people. She is friendly, curious, and a true social butterfly who enjoys greeting
people at the park.
She gets along well with other dogs and loves running, playing, and doing zoomies with her
sister, Camille. Brooklyn and Camille have also made excellent progress with positive
reinforcement training under the guidance of a certified behavioral trainer, demonstrating how
eager Brooklyn is to learn.
Although Brooklyn has never lived with children, her friendly, good-natured personality suggests
she could be a wonderful companion for a family with respectful kids.
Energetic, playful, and sensitive, Brooklyn is a special combination of intelligence, confidence,
and affection. Her future family will gain a loving companion who is ready to keep learning and
share life's adventures.
Brooklyn's Ideal HomeBrooklyn would thrive with an active, loving family who enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, park
visits, and activities that engage both her body and mind. Her family should continue the
positive reinforcement training she has already received.
She could happily live with another friendly, playful dog or as the only dog, provided she
receives plenty of exercise, enrichment, socialization, and attention. Although she has never
lived with children, she may also be a good fit for a family with respectful kids.
Brooklyn has enjoyed off-leash time at the park with caregivers she knows and trusts. After
adoption, she should remain securely leashed while building a bond with her new family. Off-
leash activities should only be considered once her recall and responsiveness are reliable.
Above all, Brooklyn needs a family ready to offer her love, security, continued guidance, and a
lifelong commitment. In return, she will bring joy, affection, and endless puppy enthusiasm into
their lives.
Brooklyn's Rescue Story
Brooklyn and her sister, Camille, were born outside a market in a very poor area of Guadalajara,
Mexico. They survived their first 41⁄2 months on the streets, searching for food and learning far
too young how to fend for themselves.
A kind person who worked at a food stand occasionally fed them and posted on Facebook
asking for help, but week after week, no one responded. Someone eventually took the puppies
in for a day and tried to find them homes. When nobody came forward, they were returned to
the streets.
Their rescuer who had had been following their story on Facebook drove to the market and
found them looking for food scraps. The puppies received veterinary care, began their health
protocols, and moved into a foster home. Although they were finally safe, their early
experiences had left them fearful. Even veterinary visits and walks could be overwhelming.
With the help of a certified behavioral trainer, they began learning through positive
reinforcement, patience, and positive experiences. Having once competed with other dogs for
scarce food, they gradually learned to socialize, play, and enjoy canine companionship without
fear.
Today, Brooklyn and Camille love running and playing at the park and have learned to enjoy off-
leash time with caregivers they know and trust. Despite their difficult beginnings, they have also
remained sweet and affectionate with people. Now Brooklyn is ready for the next chapter of her
story: finding a family of her own, where she can finally experience what it means to belong.
Brooklyn is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to taking her on a 10-day trial adoption.
