Meet Noel!
Sweet, gentle, and full of love, Noel is a beautiful 5-year-old girl who is ready to leave her past behind and find the forever family she deserves.
Noel may be a little shy when meeting new people or adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings, but give her a little patience and kindness, and you'll discover a playful, affectionate, and loyal companion. Once she feels safe, her personality begins to shine!
Don't let her age fool you! Noel still has plenty of youthful energy and loves running around the garden, exploring her surroundings, and enjoying life's simple pleasures. Her slender, athletic build makes her a wonderful companion for leisurely adventures, and her love of treats makes winning her heart that much easier!
Noel has a lovely balance of playfulness and calmness. She enjoys being active but is equally happy with a relaxed lifestyle surrounded by people who love her.
Personality & Temperament
Good with dogs: Yes! Noel gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion.
Good with kids: Yes!
Good with cats: No. A cat-free home is best.
Energy level: Medium. She enjoys daily walks, outdoor time, and activities that keep her mentally and physically engaged.
Barking: Not known to be a frequent barker.
Resource guarding: None reported.
Shedding: Minimal to none reported.
Personality: Sweet, affectionate, gentle, initially shy, and playful once comfortable.
Noel is the kind of dog who may take a little time to open up, but the love and loyalty waiting on the other side are absolutely worth it.
Training & Home Life
Noel has already developed several wonderful habits that will help her transition into a home.
Leash trained: Yes! She has experience walking on a leash.
Car rides: She travels well in the car.
Potty training: Noel keeps her kennel area clean and currently has regular access to an outdoor garden for bathroom breaks. Because she has been living in a rescue facility rather than a traditional home, she will need patience and a consistent routine while learning her new family's potty habits.
Crate training: She is familiar with crates for air travel but has not been regularly crated in a home.
Sleeping arrangements: Noel currently sleeps in her designated area at the rescue facility.
Independence: She is comfortable spending time away from other dogs when she wants some quiet time.
As with any rescue dog transitioning into a new environment, Noel will benefit from structure, patience, and plenty of positive reinforcement.
Noel's Ideal Forever Home
Noel would thrive with an individual, couple, or family looking for a devoted companion to share life's everyday moments.
Her ideal family will appreciate her gentle nature, give her time to build confidence, and enjoy a balance of daily walks, outdoor adventures, and relaxing together.
She would be happy as an only dog or sharing her home with a friendly canine sibling. Most importantly, Noel needs a family who understands that trust takes time and that some of the most beautiful bonds are built with patience.
If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with a gentle heart and a playful spirit, Noel just might be your girl!
Noel's Rescue Story – A Second Chance at Happiness
We don't know exactly how Noel's journey began or what circumstances led her to a shelter on the outskirts of Guadalajara, Mexico. What we do know is that this sweet girl has endured more uncertainty than any dog should have to face.
When the shelter was at risk of closing, dozens of dogs faced an uncertain future. An urgent plea went out to local rescue organizations, asking for help finding safe places for the animals left behind.
Among those still waiting were Noel and her longtime companion, Pearl.
The two girls had been overlooked, likely because of their age and size. While other dogs found their way out, Noel and Pearl remained together, waiting for someone to see how special they were.
Thankfully, their story didn't end there.
With the support of Northwest Wag Rescue and our dedicated rescue partners in Guadalajara, Noel and Pearl were brought to safety near Lake Chapala. There, surrounded by sunshine, open spaces, and compassionate caregivers, they were finally given the opportunity to relax, recover, and experience kindness again.
Over the following months, Noel slowly began to blossom. Her confidence grew, her playful personality emerged, and she started to discover that the world could be a wonderful place after all.
Now, after everything she's been through, Noel is ready for the next chapter.
This time, she's not just looking for a safe place to land. She's looking for a family to call her own. Forever.
Twice the Love? Meet Pearl!
Noel shares a special bond with her longtime companion, Pearl, who is also searching for her forever home.
While Noel can be adopted individually, we would love to hear from families interested in welcoming both girls into their lives. After everything they've experienced together, the opportunity to continue their journey side by side would be something truly special.
If you're interested in learning more about Pearl or the possibility of adopting both girls, please reach out to Northwest Wag Rescue!
