Temperament/Personality
Camille is a happy, intelligent, sweet, and sensitive puppy who loves learning and connecting
with people. She is attentive, eager to please, and quick to pick up new skills.
She is affectionate and friendly with people. Although she has never lived with children, her
gentle, good-natured personality suggests she could be a wonderful companion for a family with
respectful kids.
Camille also loves other dogs and enjoys meeting new friends. She can be a little shy and
submissive during initial introductions, but with positive reinforcement training, she is learning to
approach these interactions with greater confidence. Once she feels comfortable, her playful
personality shines.
Camille and her sister, Brooklyn, have been working with one of our certified behavioral trainers
using positive reinforcement methods, with excellent results. Their training has helped them
develop confidence, communication skills, and trust.
One of Camille's favorite activities is going to the park, where she loves exploring, playing with
other dogs, and doing zoomies with Brooklyn. She has also learned to enjoy off-leash time with
caregivers she knows and trusts.
As her rescuer, I am incredibly proud of Camille's progress. She combines intelligence and
sensitivity with a playful spirit, and watching her confidence grow has been a joy.
Camille may need a little time to warm up to new canine friends, but once she feels safe, she is
ready to play, explore, and enjoy life. Her future family will gain a loving companion who is
eager to keep learning and share many adventures.
Camille's Ideal Home
Camille would thrive with a loving, active family who wants their dog to be part of everyday life.
She would enjoy walks, outdoor adventures, trips to the park, playtime, and activities that
engage both her body and mind.
Because she is intelligent and sensitive, continuing her positive reinforcement training will help
her build confidence and strengthen her bond with her new family.
Camille could happily live with another friendly, well-balanced dog. Since she can initially be shy
around unfamiliar dogs, patient introductions that allow her to approach at her own pace wouldbe ideal. She could also thrive as the only dog, provided she has regular opportunities to
socialize with other dogs.
Although she has not lived with children, her gentle and affectionate nature suggests she could
do well with respectful kids.
Camille has enjoyed off-leash time with caregivers she knows and trusts. After adoption, she
should remain securely leashed while adjusting to her new family and building a reliable bond.
Off-leash activities should only be considered once her recall and responsiveness are well
established.
Above all, Camille needs a family willing to offer her love, patience, positive guidance, and a
lifetime of security and companionship. In return, she will bring sweetness, loyalty, and plenty of
joyful puppy energy into their lives.
Camille's Rescue Story
Camille's story reflects the heartbreaking reality faced by thousands of stray dogs in Mexico.
She and her sister, Brooklyn, were born outside a market in a very poor area of Guadalajara.
We don't know how many puppies were originally in their litter, but these two little girls managed
to survive their first 41⁄2 months on the streets, searching for food and learning far too young how
to fend for themselves.
A kind person who worked at one of the food stands occasionally fed them and began posting
on Facebook to ask for help. Week after week, no one responded. At one point, someone living
nearby took the puppies in for a day and tried to find them homes. When nobody came forward,
Camille and Brooklyn were returned to the streets.
After following the posts on Facebook, their rescuer drove to the market and searched until she
finally spotted them looking for scraps of food. The girls were taken for veterinary care, began
their health protocols, and eventually moved into a foster home. They were safe, but their early
experiences had left them fearful of parts of the world outside their familiar surroundings. Even
veterinary visits and walks could initially feel overwhelming.
With the support of one of our certified behavioral trainers, Camille and Brooklyn began working
through their fears using positive reinforcement, patience, and carefully managed experiences.
On the streets, other dogs could mean competition for scarce food. Camille had to learn that
meeting another dog no longer meant fighting to survive. Today, she may still approach
unfamiliar dogs shyly, but she is making beautiful progress. Once comfortable, she loves to
play, run, and make friends. With people, Camille has always been remarkably sweet and affectionate. Despite her difficult
beginnings, she never seemed to lose her ability to trust humans. Now she is ready for the next
chapter of her story: a family of her own, where she will always be safe, loved, and home.
Camille is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to taking her on a 10-day trial adoption.
