DESCRIPTION

Meet Lisa

Terrier/Dalmatian mix 5-6 years old 37 lbs

Lisa was found wandering near a school in a small rural South Louisiana town, and it's clear life hasn't always been kind to her. We believe she may have been used for breeding in the past, and between her worn teeth, patchy skin, and tired little body, you can tell she's been through more than she ever deserved.

But despite it all... Lisa is sweet as pie.

She has the gentlest soul and the kind of soft, loving eyes that make you instantly fall for her. She's friendly with everyone she meets - dogs, people, all of it. No bitterness. No attitude. Just a quiet, hopeful little girl ready to finally be loved the way she always should have been. She hasn't been around cats yet, but with her sweetness, we think she would be fine with them.

Spayed
Up to date on vaccines
Heartworm positive - treatment has already started and is being taken care of
Working through some skin issues that we're already treating

Lisa doesn't need a perfect home. She just needs someone willing to see past the rough edges and recognize the beautiful dog underneath them.

After everything she's endured, we'd really love for the rest of Lisa's story to be soft, safe, and full of love.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.
For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures.
