Meet Blueberry
Hi! My name is Blueberry! I'm a 4-month-old male Chihuahua/Border Terrier mix with long legs, adorable looks, and a sweet personality. My mom, Waffles, and my sibling, Chocolate Chip, were rescued from a rural shelter, and now I'm soaking up all the love in my foster home.
I can be a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly once I feel safe and comfortable. I'm currently around 10 pounds, and since my mom is only 13 pounds, I'll likely stay a nice medium-small size.
I'm still a puppy, so house training is a work in progress, but I'm learning more every day! My foster family says I'm doing great and continuing to come out of my shell.
Now all I need is a patient, loving forever family to help me keep growing and give me the happy ending I deserve.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. ***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.
