Meet Toby!
Looking for a little shadow who will follow you everywhere and love you unconditionally? Meet Toby!
Toby is an adorable 2-year-old Shih Tzu who made his way from Texas in search of his forever family! This sweet boy is affectionate, loyal, and loves being close to his people. He’s what we call a Velcro dog, happiest when he’s following his foster around and keeping them company!
Toby is described as having a calm, loving personality and gets along well with other dogs. Even better, he’s already house-trained AND potty-pad trained! While he may need a little refresher as he adjusts to a new home and routine, he’s already got a great foundation.
At 2 years old, Toby is past the puppy stage, making him a wonderful option for someone looking for a little companion without all the puppy chaos!
Toby is already neutered, vaccinated, and ready to find a family to call his own!
His adoption fee is $500.

About Our Rescue & Adoption Fees
Most of our dogs are rescued from high-intake shelters or directly from the streets of South Texas, where countless animals face euthanasia due to overcrowding.
Your adoption fee helps cover the significant costs of bringing these dogs to safety, including:
* Transport: Safe transportation from Texas to our local foster homes, which alone costs approximately $200–$230 per dog.
* Veterinary Care: Spay/neuter when age appropriate, core vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing when age appropriate, and microchipping.
* VCA Medical Partnership: Every adoption includes a complimentary first exam at a participating VCA Animal Hospital within 14 days of adoption, plus limited coverage of up to $250 for certain minor illnesses diagnosed during that period.
Paws Deep Animal Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Any excess adoption revenue goes directly toward helping animals with significant medical needs who might otherwise be left behind.
Important Adoption Information
We do not offer foster-to-adopt or trial adoptions due to rescue insurance restrictions and our commitment to minimizing unnecessary transitions for animals already settled in foster homes.
Breed identification is our best guess based on appearance and available information. We cannot guarantee breed or breed
