Jimmy - Shih Tzu Dog for Adoption in Gainesville, Virginia

PLEASE NOTE: Jimmy has a pending adoption upon his arrival Halloween weekend!

We are still accepting backup applications, but these will only be reviewed if his pending adoption falls through.

Meet Jimmy!

Small, sweet-faced, and absolutely adorable, meet Jimmy!

Jimmy is a handsome adult male Shih Tzu mix with a beautiful white-and-gray coat, the cutest little face, and big, expressive eyes that are sure to melt your heart!

This precious boy was rescued from South Texas and is now getting a second chance at finding the loving family he deserves! Jimmy is expected to arrive Halloween weekend and can't wait to meet his future family!

Based on his appearance, our best guess is that Jimmy is a Shih Tzu mix, possibly with some Lhasa Apso. Since Jimmy is already an adult, we expect him to remain a small dog, likely around 10–20 lbs. His actual weight has not yet been confirmed, and his breed is simply our best guess based on his looks.

Since Jimmy is new to our rescue, we're still learning about his personality, temperament, and daily habits. Adopters should be prepared to provide patience, consistency, and plenty of love while he adjusts to his new home.

His adorable coat will require regular brushing and professional grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best!

**Important Adoption Information:**

Please understand that rescue dogs often come to us with little to no background information. We may not know their parents, genetic background, previous living conditions, or complete medical history.

All breed identifications are our best guesses based on physical appearance. We do not perform DNA testing, and breed, adult size, temperament, and energy level cannot be guaranteed.

While we do our best to provide accurate information, a dog's personality and behavior may change as they settle into a new environment. Adopters should be prepared to provide patience, consistency, training, and time to adjust.

All veterinary care provided is based on the dog's age and needs while in our rescue. We cannot guarantee a dog's future health or rule out unknown medical conditions.

**A Note About Adoption Fees:**

Paws Deep Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by dedicated volunteers. Adoption fees are not a profit for our rescue. They help cover the costs of rescuing, transporting, feeding, and providing veterinary care for animals in our care.

While some adoption fees help offset the cost of an individual dog's care, many of the animals we rescue require extensive medical treatment, surgeries, or other specialized care that far exceeds their adoption fees. The fees collected from adoptions help us continue saving those animals whose adoption fees don't begin to cover their expenses.

By adopting, you're not just giving one dog a loving home. You're also helping us provide a second chance to other animals in need!

Thank you for supporting rescue and helping us save lives!
