Saffron - Shepherd and Cattle Dog Dog for Adoption in Baytown, Texas

Meet Saffron!

Confident Leader. Brilliant Mind. Professional Escape Artist.

Some puppies follow the crowd. Saffron IS the crowd leader!

At approximately 11 months old and 45 pounds, this gorgeous Shepherd/Hound/Cattle Dog mix is smart, confident, affectionate, and absolutely convinced she was born to be in charge!

Saffron is the puppy her sisters used to look to for guidance. Now her 2 sisters have both been adopted and Saffron is still waiting to find her “happy ever after”.
She’s curious, adventurous, and has the kind of intelligence that will keep you smiling—and occasionally wondering who’s actually training whom.

Let’s talk about her impressive résumé:

Potty trained? Absolutely!

Crate trained? You bet!

Sleeps peacefully on her own? Like a little angel!

Walks beautifully on leash? Naturally!

Great with other dogs? Loves them!

Escape artist? Well... she has successfully climbed out of a 36-inch playpen. Apparently, Saffron considers walls more of a suggestion than a boundary.

But behind that confident personality is a truly wonderful girl with a story that almost didn’t have a happy ending.

Saffron and her sisters were abandoned in the front yard of a kind stranger in the Houston area. Unable to keep them but determined to help, he reached out to rescue. Thanks to a dedicated foster family, these girls were given the chance they deserved.

And Saffron has been making the most of that second chance ever since!

She’s playful, loving, social with other dogs, and incredibly eager to engage with her people. She’s the kind of dog who would absolutely thrive with a family that appreciates an intelligent, active companion and enjoys keeping both her mind and body busy.

She’s got the brains, the beauty, the personality, and the heart. All she’s missing is YOU!
