DESCRIPTION

MEET XENA!

2-Year-Old German Shepherd Female Spayed Dog Friendly Professional Overachiever

Beauty. Brains. Boundless Energy. And Approximately 47 Things on Her To-Do List Before Breakfast.

Meet Xena, a stunning 2-year-old German Shepherd who is smart, affectionate, athletic, social, and quite possibly more qualified to run your household than you are.

Seriously. This girl has management potential.

Xena once had a family of her own. Like so many German Shepherd puppies, she started out as an adorable little fluffball with oversized paws and an irresistible face. Everyone loves a German Shepherd puppy!

Then something completely unexpected happened.

She grew up.

And, much to everyone’s surprise, she became... a German Shepherd.

An actual, full-sized, highly intelligent, energetic working-breed dog who requires exercise, structure, mental stimulation, and something more challenging than supervising the backyard squirrels.

Her family eventually realized they weren’t prepared for the responsibilities that come with raising a working breed, so Xena came into our rescue for a fresh start.

And Xena? She’s not looking back.

She’s far too busy for that. She has things to do.

SOCIAL BUTTERFLY WITH A VERY FULL CALENDAR

Xena currently lives with an experienced German Shepherd foster who understands that these dogs are essentially furry geniuses with the energy of caffeinated toddlers.

She shares her foster home with a large group of resident and foster dogs, and she gets along beautifully with everyone!

She plays, socializes, and enjoys being part of the pack.

Honestly, Xena has a more active social life than most adults, and she doesn’t even have a driver’s license.

XENA’S VERY IMPRESSIVE RÉSUMÉ

Let’s review her qualifications:

* Approximately 2 years old — young, fabulous, and ready to conquer the world
* Extremely dog friendly — president of the neighborhood social committee
* Potty trained — indoor plumbing rules have been thoroughly reviewed
* Crate trained — understands the concept of personal accommodations
* Leash trained — available for neighborhood patrols and recreational adventures
* Knows several commands — and is willing to learn more, provided compensation is discussed
* Treat motivated — she does NOT work for free, thank you very much
* Fully vaccinated — health and wellness department approved
* Spayed — motherhood is not part of her five-year plan
* Microchipped — identification credentials are current
* Loving, affectionate, and social — excellent interpersonal skills

References available upon request. Her foster thinks she’s wonderful.

WARNING: THIS DOG COMES WITH A FUNCTIONING BRAIN. A VERY FUNCTIONING BRAIN.

We need to discuss something important.

Xena is a German Shepherd.

Not a German Shepherd-shaped couch cushion.

Not a decorative lawn ornament.

Not a dog who considers walking from the sofa to the refrigerator an adequate daily fitness program.

A REAL German Shepherd.

She has intelligence.

She has energy.

She has opinions.

She has opinions about YOUR opinions.

And she will probably identify the Amazon delivery driver, the neighbor’s suspicious trash can, and a squirrel conducting unauthorized activities three houses away before you’ve finished your morning coffee.

German Shepherds were bred to WORK, and Xena takes her genetic inheritance very seriously.

Now, before you panic, we’re not suggesting she needs to join the police academy or become a certified bomb-sniffing dog.

Although, given the opportunity, she’d probably submit an application.

Her ideal career could include hiking, obedience training, learning tricks, agility, enrichment games, outdoor adventures, or serving as your highly enthusiastic personal fitness instructor.

Her dream job? Chief Adventure Officer and Director of Household Security.

Benefits requested: treats, belly rubs, quality time, and unlimited opportunities to be involved in family activities.

THE HOME XENA IS LOOKING FOR

Xena needs a family who understands and appreciates working breeds.

Someone who recognizes that a tired German Shepherd is generally a happy German Shepherd, and that exercising her brain is just as important as exercising her legs.

She needs structure, consistency, training, social interaction, and daily physical and mental activity.

A fully fenced, secure yard is REQUIRED.

Her ideal humans will enjoy including her in their lives, giving her opportunities to learn, and helping her channel all that wonderful intelligence into productive activities.

In return, they’ll get a loyal, affectionate, devoted companion who will love them with every fiber of her beautiful German Shepherd being.

And possibly follow them into the bathroom.

Because privacy is a human concept that German Shepherds have collectively decided is unnecessary.

SO... IS XENA YOUR GIRL?

If you’re looking for a quiet, low-energy dog whose greatest ambition is to become one with the sofa cushions, Xena would like to thank you for your interest and respectfully withdraw her application.

No hard feelings.

But if you’re looking for a beautiful, intelligent, affectionate, adventurous, dog-friendly companion who wants to be your partner in absolutely everything...

XENA WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW.

She’ll bring the enthusiasm.

You bring the treats.

And together, you can build the kind of incredible bond that makes German Shepherd people absolutely obsessed with this extraordinary breed.

Because Xena doesn’t just want a home. She wants a family, a purpose, and a life filled with love and adventure.

And after losing her first home simply for growing into the dog she was born to be, she deserves people who will love and appreciate every wonderful, energetic, opinionated inch of her.

Xena is ready for her forever family. Are you ready for Xena?
