Oden is an unfortunate owner surrender—and if you’ve ever seen one come into a shelter, you know how hard that is on them. One day they have a home, a routine, a person… and the next, they’re here. Confused. Quiet. Watching. Waiting.
He even came in wearing his little harness… like he was ready to go for a walk, not realizing his whole life was about to change.
Oden is a solid, beefy 60 pounds of handsome boy with so much potential:
Keeps his kennel clean (likely housebroken )
Seems to know some basic commands
Takes direction well and wants to please
Doesn’t seem to mind other dogs (resident dog meet required)
He’s adjusting the best he can, but this environment is loud, overwhelming, and not where he’s meant to be. Dogs like Oden often shut down at first—it’s hard for us to see their full personality here, but we know it’s in there. It always is.
The truth is… owner surrenders can be some of the hardest. They remember what it’s like to have a home. And now they’re left wondering what they did wrong.
Oden didn’t do anything wrong.
He just needs someone to give him that chance again.
