Meet Big Bear!
True to his name, Big Bear is the largest puppy of his litterand hes every bit the gentle giant. At just 10-12 weeks old and weighing just under 15 pounds, this sweet boy is expected to grow into a handsome 45-65 pound adult.
Big Bear came to us as a stray from Californias Central Valley, where sadly no one came looking for him. Their loss is someone elses incredible gain because this lovable pup has the sweetest, most easygoing personality. Think Eeyore in puppy formcalm, gentle, a little goofy, and happiest when hes snuggled up with his people. He loves to cuddle, spoon, and soak up every bit of affection he can get. We have no doubt hell become someones loyal best friend.
Like any young puppy, Big Bear is a total baby. He has no formal training yet and is just beginning to learn about the world. Hes thriving in foster care, is incredibly smart, and eager to please, so we expect him to catch on quickly with consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement. Hes not yet house or crate trained simply because of his age.
Big Bear will continue his puppy vaccine series over the next six weeks before hes ready to safely explore the world, but now is the perfect time to find the family who will help him grow into the amazing dog hes meant to be.
His ideal home includes a house with a securely fenced backyard, an active family committed to training and socialization, and, in a perfect world, another friendly dog to show him the ropes and help build his confidence.
If youve been dreaming of raising an affectionate, loyal companion from puppyhood, Big Bear is ready to steal your heartand probably your spot on the couch.
