TORTILLA - THIS SWEET MAMA IS READY TO BE THE WHOLE ENCHILADA
Meet Tortilla, a 3-year-old, 53-lb Pit Bull mama with the most precious little eyebrows, soulful eyes, and a heart so gentle that it's hard to understand how life ever treated her so poorly.
Tortilla has clearly had litter after litter. She arrived skinny and underweight after being left to fend for herself on the streets. For too long, her purpose seems to have been making puppies instead of being somebody's beloved dog.
Tortilla deserved more then, and she deserves so much more now.
Despite everything, this girl is pure sweetness. She loves everyone she meets, lives for pets and praise, and will happily sit pretty just to hear someone tell her she's a good girl. Add a snack to the equation and congratulations-you now have Tortilla's undivided attention. She is VERY food motivated, which seems appropriate for a dog named after a carbohydrate.
She's low energy, walks nicely on leash, does well with other dogs, tolerates puppy shenanigans like the seasoned mama she is, and has shown no issues sharing treats or toys with her canine friends. Mostly, Tortilla just wants to be near people, soak up affection, and finally experience what it feels like when the love is directed toward HER.
Tortilla is heartworm positive, so she has some treatment ahead of her to evict those pesky freeloaders. But heartworms are treatable, and there is so much more waiting for this girl on the other side.
She's already become a staff favorite because there is just something incredibly special about her. She is kind. She is soulful. She is forgiving. And somehow, after being overbred, underfed, and left on her own, she still looks at humans like we hung the moon.
Tortilla has spent enough of her life being the vessel that held everything together for everyone else.
Now it's her turn to be spoiled, fed properly, tucked into a soft bed, told she's a good girl approximately 900 times a day, and cherished simply because she exists.
No more breeding. No more starving. No more surviving.
It's time for this Tortilla to get absolutely wrapped in love.

We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have animals at our office, and not all animals attend adoption events. To coordinate a meet and greet with a specific animal please contact us!
We can only finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better, it takes time to review and approve applications!
We host adoption events almost every Saturday from *11:00 AM to 2:00 PM* around the Fort Collins community!
