COLORS - HER PAST WAS DARK. NOW IT'S TIME TO SHOW HER HOW BRIGHT LIFE CAN BE.
Meet Colors, a 1-year-old, 43-lb spayed Heeler whose entire world is about to change.
Colors came from a hoarding property with more than 50 dogs, where she spent her life outside in deplorable conditions. Her "home" was a dirty outdoor pen surrounded by trash, filthy water and the unforgiving New Mexico desert. She endured 100+ degree days, slept outside while coyotes howled nearby, and lived on a property where other dogs were bitten by snakes.
She's never had a soft dog bed to curl up in at night. She's never worn a collar with her name and a family's phone number attached to it. She's never hopped into a car because her humans said, "Come on, girl-we're going on an adventure." She's never known what it feels like to fall asleep inside a safe home knowing that someone loves her and will still be there when she wakes up.
But Colors has absolutely no idea that her story is sad.
Despite everything she missed out on, this beautiful girl is still full of hope. She LOVES other dogs, and they help give her confidence as she learns that the world can be safe and humans can be kind. She's learning leash skills and would thrive in a patient home with a yard and canine siblings to show her the ropes.
And now there is something pretty incredible waiting ahead of her: Colorado.
We want Colors to discover cold mountain air. Soft beds. Clean water. Toys scattered across a living-room floor. Walks where the leash means an adventure is coming. A collar with her own name on it. Maybe her first snowfall. And someday, we want this girl to curl up in a warm home and realize she never has to sleep outside listening for danger again.
Colors didn't get to choose the first chapter of her life.
We get to help write the next one.
She's ready to put her best paw forward and finally discover just how colorful life can be.
Colors deserves more than survival. She deserves the whole rainbow.

We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have animals at our office, and not all animals attend adoption events. To coordinate a meet and greet with a specific animal please contact us!
We can only finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better, it takes time to review and approve applications!
We host adoption events almost every Saturday from *11:00 AM to 2:00 PM* around the Fort Collins community!
