Ronaldo is a big, gentle sweetheart who just wants to be close to people and share all the love his enormous heart has to give.

This handsome boy has traveled all the way from Alabama to Heartland Animal Shelter, and now he's hoping his journey ends with a family of his very own. His previous foster told us she "can't say enough good things about him", and honestly, we can see why!

Ronaldo weighs in at a whopping 89 pounds, but don't let his size fool you. This boy is gentleness personified. He's calm, sweet, and just so easy to love. He's the kind of dog who reminds you that the biggest dogs often have the softest hearts. He's had a lot of change in his life, but even after a long day on a transport van all the way from Alabama to Wheeling, IL, he happily and gently greeted everyone he's met, and calmly lays in his kennel until someone comes to invite him to a walk or a playgroup. He's polite and undemanding.

Ronaldo's sweetness doesn't stop with people! He's is dog-friendly and even loves puppies. There's something so special about a big guy who can be so gentle with his smaller friends. He's also great on leash, so you can enjoy leisurely walks together without feeling like you're hanging on to 89 pounds of chaos.

Ronaldo isn't looking to run the world. He just wants a person to love, a cozy spot to relax, and a home where he can finally unpack his bags and stay forever. He has so much love to give, and after making the trip from Alabama to meet his future family, we think it's about time someone chose him.

If you've got room in your home - and maybe a little extra room on your couch, Ronaldo is ready to fill it with 89 pounds of loyalty, sweetness, and the opportunity to show someone that the best things can come in big packages too!

Come meet Ronaldo at Heartland Animal Shelter. Your future forever giant is waiting, and we have a feeling he's going to take up a whole lot of space in your heart.

Ronaldo's adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
