Meet Momo! He's 5 years old, possibly a Beagle-Dachshund mix, and most definitely one of the funniest little dogs we've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Momo was adopted from Heartland three years ago and recently returned when his family's living circumstances changed. While we're sorry he's found himself back in our care, we have to admit that we are obsessed with him.
First, there's his physique. Momo is a rather substantial gentleman supported by four rather unsubstantial legs. He is, shall we say, built like a log. And when Momo gets the zoomies, that resemblance becomes even more pronounced. Despite his generous proportions and short leggies, Momo is surprisingly athletic! He'll get up a good head of steam running across the grass, and then, for reasons known only to Momo, launch himself into a series of barrel rolls. He looks like a log rolling down a hill, and the other dogs are just as confused by this maneuver as we are delighted. We have watched it approximately a thousand times and it has yet to get old.
But Momo is so much more than a talented barrel roller!
For starters, he has the exact opposite of stranger danger. In Momo's world, every unfamiliar face is simply a new best friend he hasn't had the pleasure of meeting yet. His entire body lights up when he sees someone approaching, and his little half-stump of a tail starts wagging at approximately one million miles per hour. He loves everyone, and we mean everyone.
Momo previously lived with children and was described by his adopters as housebroken and crate trained. He was routinely crated while his family was at work or away from home and was comfortable with that arrangement.
As for other dogs, Momo is perfectly happy to have canine company, although he isn't necessarily looking for a full-time wrestling partner. He enjoys hanging out with other dogs and will occasionally join in the fun, as you can see in his videos. Being the hungry boy that he is, he is not fond of sharing anything edible with his canine friends!
And have we mentioned his adorable speckled chest? Or his sweet face? Or the fact that he's an easygoing, easy-to-walk little guy who seems genuinely thrilled just to be included in whatever is happening?
Momo is funny, affectionate, social, and packed with personality. He's already spent three years being someone's beloved dog, and we'd love nothing more than to see him get right back to that life.
He's easy to walk, easy to adore, and admittedly a little difficult to describe without using the word "log."

Momo's adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
