If Moonpie could build her dream life, it would include a quieter home, a big yard, approximately 47 tennis balls, unlimited access to water for splashing purposes, and a person who thinks hanging out with their dog is an excellent way to spend a Saturday.

After six months in a home, we know SO much more about this sweet girl, and Moonpie has a pretty impressive resume.

She is completely house-trained and crate-trained, great in the car, doesn't counter surf or raid the garbage, and has learned an entire vocabulary of commands, including sit, down, stay, come, leave it, drop it, wait, place, bed, shake and more. She is incredibly food-motivated and genuinely loves learning, making her a very fun dog for someone who enjoys training and building a relationship with their dog. Her former family even taught her to ring a bell when she needs to go outside!

And outside is where Moonpie would really like to be. This girl LOVES walks, fetch and-most of all-her giant herding ball. Give her a ball and some room to run and you've basically handed Moonpie the keys to Disneyland. And if water is involved? Even better. Moonpie is an enthusiastic water girl who actually *likes* taking baths, which may be the rarest trait we've ever advertised in a dog...

At home, Moonpie loves being close to her people. She'll happily sleep in her crate or bed, but she certainly won't object if the available sleeping arrangement happens to be next to you. Frozen lick mats, Pupsicles, Benebones and treat-dispensing toys are also very serious business in Moonpie's world.

Moonpie's previous home taught us something else important about her: she is a girl who thrives when life isn't quite so busy. Lots of activity outside the windows, people constantly coming and going, and unfamiliar people reaching for her can make her anxious and overwhelmed. She's looking for a quieter home with adults who are comfortable letting a dog meet new people at her own pace rather than expecting her to be the neighborhood social chairman. Moon warms up quickly when she can meet someone at her own pace (vs young kids who come at her fast- that scares her!).

Moonpie isn't looking for the busiest house on the block. She's looking for someone who appreciates a smart, silly, active, deeply devoted dog and can give her the structure and quieter environment in which she can be her best self.

Moonpie's adoption fee is $300. She is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
