Why choose me?

When we first met this incredibly sweet girl, the only thing we knew about her history was that she was found lying in a backyard with a large, gaping wound in her abdomen. While we had no way of knowing how she got it or how long she'd been living like this, we knew we had to help. Her wound was surgically addressed and she was given the time and space to heal in a quiet, comfortable foster home. Now just about a month later, it has healed beautifully and you'd never knew she'd had it if it wasn't for some subtle scarring.
Despite all that she had presumptively been through, it's always been clear that this sweet girl has nothing but love to give. At first, she wasn't sure if she could trust humans and cowered whenever someone made a sudden movement. Now, throughout just a few short weeks with lots of reassurance, she has been flourishing into a dog who now knows she can consider new people immediate friends. With the immense progress she's made thus far, we are hopeful her forever family will understand what she's been through and work to continue assuring her that she is safe now. If there's one thing she'd love in life, it's to find someone that she can curl up next to at the end of every night.
As she has healed from her injury, her foster has discovered that she is house trained, does great in the car, is okay being left alone, and has done great with the dogs she's been introduced to thus far. She is an excellent house guest and we suspect she'll be an even better permanent resident for her forever family. This little Cricket has so much to offer and is now patiently waiting for her chance at a happy ending.
