Update: The first thing Daphne did when she entered the interaction pen was roll over for a belly rub, after that, she was ready to run and stretch her legs. She loved being out of her kennel and was having the best time. When she had her fill of running, she joined me in the shade and leaned against me as I petted her. Daphne is a sweet girl who's come a long way since her first day at the shelter.

Daphne is a beautiful girl. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was nervous, so the supervisor has been spending time with her, and she's doing really well. She needed a little time to feel comfortable outside, and then she was enjoying belly rubs and zooming around the play yard. She also sat on command and shared her beautiful smile when praised. Later in the day, I stopped at Daphne's kennel to check on her. She took treats gently and was wagging her tail as I gave her a few pets. She's a good girl who just needed time to know she's safe and loved. At this time, Daphne is listed as rescue only as she becomes comfortable with new people, but she's already come a long way.
