Sneezy
8-10 year female, 45 pounds
Rescued in the Southwest
Meet Sneezy — also known as Sneezy Weezy and Sneezelberry, because a dog this charming earns her nicknames. This sweet, gentle 45-pound lady came to us from the Southwest, and at 8-10 years old she has the calm, settled energy of a dog who's ready to simply be part of a family. She's curious and independent, happy to explore her surroundings at her own pace, and she takes in new people and situations with quiet confidence rather than anxiety. She warms up on her own timeline — she may not rush over for pets right away, but patience and proximity go a long way with her, and once she's comfortable she's right there with you. She loves other dogs, greets them with an enthusiastic full-body sniff, and has settled in nicely alongside her foster siblings, though she appreciates when the energy around her stays relatively calm. Her favorite spot isn't the couch or the bed — she's a floor dog through and through, happiest stretched out near her people, keeping an eye on everything.
Sneezy's days involve walks, backyard zoomies, and impressive feats of tossing her toy in the air and attempting to catch it — a signature move. She does tire a bit more quickly than a younger dog, so she's not looking for marathon adventure days, but she's absolutely up for a good walk or a gallop around the yard before settling in to watch the world go by from the window. She's potty trained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and is working on reliably responding to her name (cheese is proving very helpful). She'd do best in a home without many stairs, or with elevator access, as she's a little hesitant on them. Her ideal adopter is someone who wants a calm, loving companion for couch nights and quiet mornings — a gentle presence who asks for very little and gives a lot just by being in the room.
