Personality Snapshot
Describe in 35 words: Sweet, Mellow, Gentle, Friendly, Calm
Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Low
More peopleoriented or independent? People-oriented. She is ok home alone, but prefers to be near you if you are around.
How do they handle new situations? Very well. She has taken to the city sounds and apartment living without issue. She even learned to use a revolving door.
Social & Home Life
How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? She loves people and would like to meet everyone if possible. She is gentle with kids and it happy to let them pet her. She is fine with all touching and allows you to hold or touch her paws and her face. She has been taking her eye drops like a champ.
How are they with other dogs? She is comfortable with other dogs and generally gives them a sniff before moving on.
Cats or other animals (if known)? Unknown, but I doubt she would have problems since she so gentle.
Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: She is fine when left alone and loves guests. She doesnt bark at the door and just meanders over for some sniffs and pets.
Training & Manners
Potty trained? Yes.
Crate trained? Unknown
Leash skills: Excellent. She walks behind you with a loose lead. Shes not much of a sniffer so walks are a nice leisurely stroll.
Commands known (if any): Sit, if properly incentivized.
Daily Life
Typical day with you: We take a walk first thing in the morning, then she has breakfast and takes her meds with breakfast. The she snoozes most of the day, she likes to switch between sitting in the sun and cooling off on the floor. She goes on a longer walk in the afternoon, then back to snoozing. She has dinner around 6:30 and then likes to cuddle on the couch. She usually goes out for one more short walk before bedtime. She sleeps in a dog bed in our room.
Exercise needs: She enjoys walking, but keeps a slower pace. We take 3-4 walks per day.
Favorite activities or toys: So far she hasnt shown interest in toys. She enjoys her dental or yak bones and a good head scratch.
Growth Areas
Anything theyre still working on? She could use some work learning more basic commands.
What helps them succeed? She would likely benefit from a consistent routine. Shes otherwise a very easygoing dog and is food motivated.
Ideal Home
Only dog / With dog / Either: Either
Good fit for apartment living? Yes, as long as there is an elevator. Too many stairs could be tough for her.
Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): Moderate or calm.
What kind of adopter would be the best match? Someone looking for a low-key dog. She would be great in a family with kids or as an only child. She is pretty low maintenance.
*Daffodil is on meds for an underachieve thyroid, but this doesn't affect her well being and the condition is under control!*
