Meet Brigette — A Sweet Young Girl Ready to Discover What Home Really Means
Brigette is a beautiful 9-month-old girl with a tender heart, a playful personality, and a whole world waiting for her to discover. Expected to be around 40 lbs when fully grown, she will be a wonderful medium-sized companion. She is affectionate with the people she trusts, curious about her surroundings, and loves spending time with other dogs.
Brigette still has plenty of puppy spirit. She loves to play, can be goofy and mischievous, and is learning more every day. Behind that playful exterior is a sensitive young dog who has spent most of her life in rescue and hasnt yet had the chance to experience all the ordinary things that make up life in a loving home.
Her beginning was anything but ordinary.
Brigette and her siblings, including Bella, Bimba, and Bongo, were discovered as tiny puppies after being abandoned in the garbage and left completely helpless. They were far too young to survive on their own. Thankfully, a kindhearted person walking his dog came across the litter and immediately reached out to our rescue partner, SOS El Arca Animal Rescue.
From that moment, their lives began to change.
The puppies were brought to safety, where they received veterinary care, nutritious food, shelter, and the kindness they should have known from the very beginning. The frightened, vulnerable babies who had been thrown away grew stronger and blossomed into beautiful young dogs.
Brigette survived the hardest part of her story. Now she is ready for the best part — finding someone who will show her what it means to truly belong.
Because Brigette has grown up primarily in a rescue environment, living in a home will be a new adventure for her. Things we barely notice — household noises, visitors, neighborhood walks, traffic, new places, different surfaces, daily routines — may all be unfamiliar at first.
She doesnt need someone who expects her to understand everything immediately. She needs a patient person who will allow her to experience the world at her own pace and help her build confidence through consistency, encouragement, and positive experiences.
At only 9 months old, Brigette has so much ahead of her. She is young, eager to learn, and at a wonderful age to form a strong bond with the person who chooses her.
Her potty training has already started and will need to continue once she arrives home. A predictable routine, crate training, regular exercise, positive reinforcement, and lots of patience will help her learn what is expected of her. Like any puppy, there may be mistakes and mischievous moments along the way — but there will also be milestones worth celebrating.
Brigette does very well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. A friendly, confident resident dog could be a wonderful companion and help show her the ropes as she adjusts to home life. However, with a committed and patient adopter, she can also flourish as the only dog in the home.
Brigette is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
She has an opportunity to travel to New York. Brigette needs a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home before she can make the journey.
Brigette needs someone willing to guide her through her first real home, her first neighborhood walks, her first cozy bed, her first routines, and all the little experiences that will teach her that she is finally safe.
Imagine watching her confidence grow.
The things that may seem uncertain at first can become ordinary. A nervous walk can turn into an exciting adventure. A new sound can become something she barely notices. A puppy unsure of what is expected of her can become a beloved companion who knows exactly where she belongs.
And one day, you may look at Brigette sleeping peacefully in her favorite spot and remember that this is the same little girl who once had nowhere to call home.
Someone discarded Brigette at the very beginning of her life, but that moment does not have to define the rest of her story.
Her future can be filled with toys, walks, adventures, belly rubs, cozy evenings, canine friends, silly puppy moments, and the security of knowing that no one is ever going to leave her behind again.
All she needs is someone willing to give her that chance.
Maybe that someone is you.
If youre ready for puppy adventures, training, laughter, companionship, and the incredibly rewarding experience of helping a young rescue dog discover just how wonderful life can be, Brigette may be the girl youve been waiting for.
