Meet NATE!
***Nate is being fostered in Dundalk, MD and is ready for meet and greets with approved adopters!***
Nate is estimated to be 1 year old and weigh about 35-40 lbs. We don't know his exact breed because we do not know his parents but we think he’s a Lab/Shepherd mix. He is such a stunning and majestic looking dog!
Nate’s foster mom just loves him. He is a happy dog who has adjusted well to his new foster life in Maryland super quickly. He is very adaptable!
Nate is an energetic happy dog who gets along great with other dogs. He is currently in a foster home (with a woman who also does dog boarding) and as a result, he’s met at least 10 other dogs and has been excellent with them all. He loves to run around the yard with his canine friends as well as his biological sibling, Choco. He is playful and would make a great playmate for anyone looking for a friend for a current dog!
He is excellent with children! He is currently in a foster home with a 9-year-old girl who he enjoys cuddling with and giving kisses.
Nate is a cuddly and outgoing dog who will actively come up to you for pets and kisses. He's a confident and snuggly guy. He's the kind of dog that would love to cuddle on the couch and watch a movie.
Nate is 100% house trained and does all business outside and has from the very beginning.
He is crate trained. He sleeps excellently throughout the night in his crate and sleeps soundly.
He is leash trained and walks well on a leash!
Overall, Nate is a quiet dog unless he hears an unfamiliar noise. For example, if he were sleeping and someone were to knock on the front door, he would wake up and bark, but he is not an incessant barker by any means.
In our care, he has not had any separation anxiety either. Per above, he is currently with some canine friends and is fine being left alone crated.
Nate is a good eater as well and does not resource guard his food.
Nate is a very special dog and we can't wait to find him an amazing forever family!
As we mentioned, Nate is currently being fostered with his sibling, Choco! These two get along splendidly and so if you are looking for 2 dogs, this might be your pair! These two balance one another out in terms of personality. Nate is the more initially outgoing one and Choco will look to Nate to boost his initial confidence. Choco is a little more reserved initially but once he knows you, he is all snuggles as well. While Nate and Choco are great friends, they are NOT truly bonded so can be adopted separately as well!
HIS STORY: Nate was rescued as a very small stray puppy along with his sibling Choco in Puerto Rico by a young independent rescuer who had taken them in and cared for them and then reached out to us for help. We couldn’t say no!
Please feel free to email us with any questions about him or Choco! We are a small all-volunteer rescue and we see every email that comes through, so your inquiry will not get lost! See below for application info.

We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority.
Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment are the most important things in caring for a dog.
In addition, we cannot guarantee breed of any dog, exact age or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house-trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopter's home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.
