Meet FRIDO!
He is 12 weeks old and 3 lbs. as of September 17, 2026! While we don't know his exact breed, we think he's a ragdoll/main coon given his look and colors. We love his yellow green eyes and fluffy look and ears. He is so so adorable!
The way his name came to be is quite funny! His rescuer (and now foster) thought he was a girl and named him "Frida." Alas, that wasn't the case so she changed his name to FridO ;)
His foster describes him as calm, curious, observant, playful and a naturally independent kitten! He has a balanced personality and is not hyper or constantly jumping on furniture as many kittens do. He is, of course, a young kitten and still loves to play!
Frido is a social kitty and especially with people he knows well. He gets happy when his foster mom goes into his space to say hello. He rolls around, shows his belly and waits for her to come over and interact with him. He pays attention so where she is and waits by the entrance of his enclosure excitedly looking for her! He will seek his foster mom out to play with him too! For example, when she's preparing food for her animals, Frido will come up to the side of his area and reach his little paws through the gate to get her attention to play. He also loves to sit in between his foster's legs on the floor and will rub his body against hers for attention.
He really likes human touch. He likes to be petted on his head, ears, back, sides and tail. He tolerates his paws being touched and when he's relaxed, he also will allow belly rubs.
He doesn't make much noise! He has a very soft, almost silent meow, and even his purr is very subtle. Too cute!
Frido likes playtime, with toys and people! He is being fostered with another kitten named Bluebell and they run around together and play wrestle often! He also likes his wand toys, balls, fake mice, and climbing his cat tree. He can entertain himself and settle down after playtime is over too.
Frido and Bluebell are friends, so if you are looking for 2 cats, it would be a great pair! But they are not bonded and would do equally well alone too! You can see Bluebell in one of the photos.
Frido has been around young children as well without issue. He sometimes uses his mouth to play and will play bite (definitely not aggressive) to get your attention. He is easily redirected to toys and then will play with them. As long as children understand his tendency to do this, it won't be a problem!
He's a good eater. He eats both wet and dry food and loves boiled chicken and turkey. Frido LOVES Churus!
He is a good traveler and settles down well in his carrier.
He is currently in a home with several dogs. He doesn't actively seek out dogs to play with, but he has never been aggressive with them either. We think he would be absolutely fine in a home with a cat-friendly dog.
He tolerates normal household noises very well. Things like a vacuum or dog barking will get his attention and he may move to a quieter spot but he isn't skittish.
So far, he's been very amenable to handling, even at the vet!
He is 100% litter box trained.
HIS STORY: Frido was rescued by our favorite independent rescuer on one of her cat feeding routes. She had seen him crossing the road with his mom and siblings for several days and was worried about his safety and one day she was able to grab him and rescue him.
He has received 2 FVRCP vaccines and his FeLV vaccine. He is 3dx negative. He is also fecal negative and has been dewormed. He is microchipped.
PLEASE NOTE: Frido is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to his forever home once adopted. Adoption fees listed here ($350) cover all transport related costs to the States. There are NO other fees. :)
