DESCRIPTION
Meet Dutton
If Yellowstone had a puppy cast member... it'd be this little cowboy right here.
Dutton is a black Lab mix born in January 2026, currently weighing about 25 lbs with plenty more growing left to do. With those soulful eyes, oversized puppy paws, and sweet country-boy charm, he's basically the four-legged version of "home on the range."
This handsome ranch hand is:
Great with other dogs
Good with cats
Wonderful with kids
Crate trained
Up-to-date on vaccines
Will be neutered when old enough
Dutton is playful, affectionate, goofy, and happiest when he's around his people. Whether he's romping around the yard, supervising snack time, or looking at you like you personally hung the moon, this boy knows how to make himself right at home.
He's got the kind of face that belongs on a feed store calendar and the kind of personality that'll make you fall in love in about five seconds flat.
So if you've been looking for a loyal sidekick for backroad rides, porch hangs, and everyday adventures... Dutton is ready to clock in as your new best friend.

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
ABOUT: LABRADOR RETRIEVER DOG BREED
The Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile dog breed known for its friendly demeanor and high intelligence. These dogs are often used as guide dogs for the visually impaired, search and rescue dogs, and excellent family pets. Labradors are known for their great sense of smell, strong build, and love of water, making them exceptional hunters and swimmers. With their loyal and loving nature, Labradors have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the most beloved dog breeds in the world.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
