BUCKAROO BENNY

Chihuahua

male, small, adult

DESCRIPTION

Buckaroo Benny

WANTED: A steady homestead for one (1) compact cowboy with a suspiciously strong fan base.

Buckaroo Benny. About 2 years old. Chihuahua by paperwork, frontier folklore by presence.

His rap sheet reads like poetry: emotional pickpocketing, unauthorized lap occupation, and a long-standing habit of making himself indispensable within minutes of arrival. No bounty has ever stuck. Witnesses refuse to testify. They "like him, actually."

Benny doesn't make a scene. He makes a shift. The room settles, your shoulders drop, and somehow he's right there-close enough to matter, subtle enough to feel like it was your idea. This is not chaos affection. This is precision-engineered connection.

He is deeply, disarmingly sweet, but with a quiet intelligence behind it. The kind that studies you for a second, then chooses you with intention. A soft lean. A look that lingers. Congratulations, you're now emotionally invested in a dog who hasn't raised his voice once.

Medical dispatch from the trail: Buckaroo Benny is heartworm positive. Treatment has already begun, and we will be completing it. He's taking it in stride, like a cowboy who knows the trail gets rough before it gets better-and keeps walking anyway.

House training? Consider it a skill he's brushed up against before. With consistency and a steady routine, he'll settle right back into it like muscle memory.

Benny is not loud. Not chaotic. Not here to waste time.

Some dogs pass through your life.
Some dogs make you rearrange it.

Buckaroo Benny builds a whole town and hands you the keys.

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page:

Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.

***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
