Alora is an absolute sweetheart. She's a bit shy but is building more and more confidence each day. It's great watching her come out of shell more and more each day. She loves love and is adorable, so you'll always want to pet her or pick her up. She's a pup who loves her toys and has just figured out what zoomies are.

Likes:
Sun - absolute sun baby who will find every spot where sun is shining through the window and take a nap there
Running in unmowed grass
Snuggles, cuddles, and afternoon naps with her people

Dislikes:
Loud noises scare her but she's getting more used to them
Not being your shadow but looking adorable while doing so

Puppy Lesson In Progress:
Potty Training - in the early stages but making a little progress each day
Getting used to her kennel - she's good overnight and is starting to get used to it during the day
Walks - sometimes she starts and stops a lot because she doesn't want to walk but with a little encouragement and/or being in your arms, she comes around and is off on a pup trot
Kids - likes them but is still adjusting to the little people being grabby
Doggie Pals - a bit selective (no issues with some, but reactive to others)

She's a terrific young girl hoping someone will enjoy teaching her all those important puppy lessons with a ton of love!

We are DC's only open-access shelter. We are always available to help any animal in the District of Columbia. We have cats, dogs, rabbits, and more available for adoption out of our two shelters and also run the Capital Area Spay and Neuter Center.
