Griddy is one of approximately 40 dogs who were dumped and taken to a shelter in Texas, and now this sweet boy is beginning a new chapter in foster care. While the world may still feel a little overwhelming to him, Griddy is already showing us that beneath his shy exterior is a smart, gentle pup who wants to learn that he's safe.
Griddy can be a little timid at first, but he's shown that he can warm up quickly with a friendly dog by his side. Having a confident canine companion helps him feel more comfortable as he figures things out, and he would likely benefit from having a dog friend in his new home. He accepts pets and enjoys keeping an eye on his foster, quietly observing as he learns to trust the people around him.
And then there's Griddy's silly side! This boy loves being outdoors and especially enjoys playing in the dirt. A bath? He'll tolerate it pretty well, but don't be surprised if he heads right back outside to get his paws dirty again! Clearly, a little mud isn't going to stop him from enjoying life.
Griddy is still settling in, and also working on important life skills like learning how to walk on a leash and perfecting his potty training. The good news? He is smart and willing to learn, and with patience, consistency, and plenty of encouragement, we believe he has so much potential.
Griddy doesn't need someone to rush him or expect him to have everything figured out right away. He needs a patient, understanding home that will give him time to build confidence at his own pace, celebrate his little victories, and show him what it means to be loved.
This sweet boy has already taken some brave first steps. Now he just needs someone willing to take the next steps with him. Could you be the person who helps Griddy discover how wonderful life can be?
