Meet Yoshi Baloo, a 1-year-old Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing 100 pounds (as of 6/3/26). This boy and his brother Bobo Baloo were surrendered by their owners in Tennessee. But they live life by the philosophy: "Look for the bare necessities. The simple bare necessities. Forget about your worries and your strife!" They know better things are ahead!
Yoshi has a steady, loyal presence that makes everyone around feel safe and welcome. He's like a giant Valentine's Day teddy bear: All love and full of heart. He's very people-oriented and enjoys being around his family, especially if you've got yummy treats lying around! He's also well-centered, attentive, and seems to be a great listener, so if you've got a podcast, he's all ears! While Yoshi does have an impressive bark every now and then, it's part of his guardian breed charm.
He was raised around children, even little ones who loved climbing all over him and has always been patient and gentle. Yoshi does wonderfully with other dogs and is friendly with strangers as well. Cats are still a bit of a mystery to him, so he may need slow introductions and guidance in a home with feline friends.
He walks well on a leash, does great in a crate, and appears to be house-trained. He has gotten in trouble for chasing a chicken around so hopefully you don't have any pet chickens!
MEDICAL DISCLOSURE: Yoshi also has the tick-borne disease, Ehrlichiosis, but is taking antibiotics for 30 days to help him get better.
Everyday is better with Yoshi! Bring this love bug home today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.
To adopt or learn more about Yoshi Baloo, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **
PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
