Meet Iris Evergreen, an approx. 6-week-old Lab mix, weighing approx. 8 pounds (as of 6/5/26). The EVERGREEN litter and Lily Momma Evergreen were surrendered by their owners after police intervened for neglect. They had a rough beginning, but are excited to have their happy ending with the best family in the world: yours! In fact, Iris is so ecstatic, she wrote up her own bio:

"Hi hi hi! I'm Iris! Life is pretty exciting when you're one of nine puppies. I have eight siblings to play with, wrestle with, and nap with every day! Three more pups and we would have been like that family in Cheaper by the Dozen. I'm a sweet, playful little pup who loves exploring the world, chasing toys, and then curling up for a cozy snuggle when playtime is over. Don't mean to brag, but I'm the BEST snuggler!

I have that irresistible puppy breath of warm milk and honey (so I'm told), soft puppy fur, and a heart full of love to share with anyone and everyone. I'm happiest when I'm spending time with people and making new friends. I haven't met cats or kids yet, but I hope to one day!

As I grow, I'll be looking for a family who can help me learn all about being a great companion through patience, love, and plenty of fun adventures. I'll definitely need help with all things puppy training: potty, leashes, crates, etc. In return, I promise lots of tail wags, puppy kisses, and lifelong devotion. If you're not sold by that, I also got a sweet discount at Edible Arrangements! What's better than flower-shaped fruit?

My mom is about 65 pounds and the jury's out on who my dad is, but I assume I might be around her size when grown. I haven't been spayed/neutered yet, but I will be when I'm a little older and it's closer to adoption. Could I be the newest member of your family? Pretty please with a cherry on top?!"

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Iris Evergreen, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $575] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
