Anora comes from Azerbaijan, a former Soviet Union Republic, where animals are often mistreated and left to fend for themselves on the streets.
Anora was one of those animals. She was dumped on the streets, for reasons unknown, and because she is a gentle giant, she became a target to other strays.
She fell victim to a brutal attack by stray dogs. Not knowing how to protect herself, she had no chance when she was cornered. Because of their intimidating appearance, Dobermans are one of the most vulnerable breeds when faced with aggression from other, dominant dogs. Anora paid the price for this, as the dogs tore her face apart.
By the time we found Anora and brought her back to our shelter, her condition was horrid. Her ears and legs were covered in bite wounds, but the most devastating injury was to her face. Her nose was completely torn off, which led to a massive infection that spread to her whole face, and her face was literally decaying.
With a lot of determination, willpower, and resiliency, Anora healed. Not only did her wounds heal, but her love for other animals. She is still a gentle giant, but still playful with other dogs and cats. She will be a great addition to any family.
Anora is spayed, vaccinated, and ready for adoption.
