Meet little Miss Abby
Abby is a 3-year-old and comes all the way from Baku, Azerbaijan, a former Soviet republic where countless animals become victims to serious accidental injuries or human’s brutality, and a left to fend for themselves without protection or care. We rescue these deserving dogs, help them heal and recover, and fly them to Canada, so they can finally experience the safety, love and happy future they deserve.
Abby is a sweet, gentle girl with a story of survival written into every part of who she is. Life was cruel to Abby before she found safety. In Azerbaijan, she was hit by a car — an accident that crushed her legs and injured her spine. A kind stranger spotted her in this terrible state and called for help. Our team rushed to her side and brought her back to the shelter, where she finally got the care she so desperately needed just in time.
The accident left Abby unable to walk. But don't let that fool you — this girl has never let it slow her down. She's learned to move freely and confidently in her own way, and she's fully in control of her body. Abby has adapted beautifully, and she lives every day trying her best. However, a very busy and crowded dog shelter yard made it hard for this sweet little girl to feel safe and comfortable amongst so many competing for food and space. That is why she made the longest trip in her life to search for a new beginning.
What really shines through with Abby is her spirit. She's calm, good-natured, and endlessly friendly — the kind of dog who greets the world with warmth rather than fear, despite everything she's been through. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, making her an easy fit for almost any home. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and ready for new friends.
Abby isn't asking for pity. She's asking for a chance — a family who will see past her legs and straight into her heart. She needs someone patient and loving, someone who will celebrate her for exactly who she is: a resilient, affectionate girl who still believes in kindness.
