Dolly - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Springfield, Missouri

Forget “9 to 5"....my favorite job is professional snuggler, blanket burrower, and occasional zoomies champion. I’m Dolly, a 4 year old, 8 pound Chihuahua and just like my famous namesake, I’m a little country queen looking for my happily-ever-after! I’m still working on my house-training skills, but I’m doing well with my pee pads and making progress. Going outside used to scare me terribly, but I’m slowly finding my courage. I’m doing well on my leash and in my crate, too! Once you sit down, I’ll be right there to cuddle up, and at bedtime, I’d love to sleep under the covers with my favorite human. I’ll need a patient person who understands that little girls like me sometimes need extra time to shine. Being picked up is still frightening for me, and I sometimes have accidents when I’m lifted, so I’ll need gentle handling and time to learn to trust. I get along with other dogs, but cats aren’t quite my cup of sweet tea. My dream home would have a securely fenced yard and a human who’s home more often than not. I feel happiest when I have companionship, a cozy place to nap, and someone who understands that confidence comes one little step at a time.
As Dolly Parton would say, “If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” I may have a few fears to overcome, but with patience, kindness, and lots of love, I know brighter days are ahead. So, darlin’, if you’ve got room in your heart and under your blankets for a tiny country girl, I’m ready to be the star of your show!

My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
