If you’re looking for a professional cuddle buddy, I’m already raising my paws to volunteer! I’m Cherrio, born May 30, 2013, and I’m a sweet, gentle senior who wants nothing more than to be wherever you are. If you’re standing, I’ll follow you around. If you sit down, I’ll curl up beside you—or better yet, in your lap. And if I decide I want to be carried, I’ll stand on my hind legs with my paws on your leg until you scoop me up. I’m very persuasive! I came into care with my sister after our person passed away, and now I’m hoping for a quiet home where I can enjoy my golden years. I love fluffy beds, cuddles, and simply being near my people. I’ve done wonderfully with cats, dogs, and kids, although my animal friends need to be gentle because I’m front-declawed and far too sweet to defend myself. I’m FIV+ and have kidney disease, so I need a UR diet and subcutaneous fluids every three days. I’m actually very good about my fluids, and they’ve made such a difference that my bloodwork now barely looks like I have kidney disease! My special food has also completely stopped my UTIs, so both are important parts of my lifelong care. And for a senior gentleman, my teeth are looking pretty darn good! I’d love a peaceful home with someone who enjoys having a devoted little shadow around—especially someone who’s home often. I’m independent when I need to be, but give me the choice, and I’ll choose you every time.
