Meet Ivee!

Ivee may only weigh 6 tiny pounds, but once this sweet girl decides youre her person, she has so much love to give! Ivee is an approximately 5 year old Chihuahua mix looking for a calm, patient family who will give her the time she needs to settle in and feel safe.

Ivees story is a little bittersweet. She was adopted as a baby and spent years with her owner before sadly losing them about a year ago. She returned to the care of her original foster mom, where she has been ever since. Because her world changed so dramatically, Ivee can understandably be shy and nervous with new people and new situations. She may do a little of that classic Chihuahua shaking when she isnt sure about something! But underneath that nervous exterior is an incredibly sweet, affectionate little girl. Even when meeting new people, she has shown that she wants to trust—once she is being held and gently loved on, that little tail starts wagging.

Once Ivee warms up, she is a total lovebug. She loves being held, petted, cuddled and giving kisses. She is fairly low-energy and perfectly happy spending much of her day curled up in a cozy dog bed near her people. She does get adorable little bursts of zoomies and enjoys playing, but she definitely appreciates the quieter side of life.

Ivee does phenomenally with other small dogs and is also good with cats. Having a friendly, confident little dog in her new home could even help show her the ropes, although it is not required. She is house trained and will also use potty pads if she needs to be left longer than usual. She is comfortable being left home, is not destructive, and while she will bark from time to time, she is a Chihuahua, after all! She is not an excessive barker.

One thing Ivee will need some patience with is leash walking. As far as we know, she has never really learned how to walk on a leash, so her adopter should be willing to start slowly and positively with her. At only six pounds, the world can feel pretty enormous!

Ivee will be spayed, up to date on vaccines and have her health certificate prior to adoption. If you have a soft spot for tiny Chihuahuas and are willing to give a shy little girl the patience to show you who she really is, Ivee just might reward you with six pounds of kisses, cuddles and unconditional love.
