Meet Delilah!
For the first five years of her life, Delilah never really knew what it meant to be someones beloved family dog. Now, at 5 years old and just 14 pounds, this sweet little cockapoo girl is finally getting her chance.
Delilah came to us as a breeder release from a less than ideal situation. She spent her life being used for breeding instead of experiencing all the things every dog deserves—a cozy bed, gentle affection, adventures, toys, and most importantly, a family who loves her simply because shes her.
Understandably, Delilah is shy when she first meets you, but what has amazed us is just how quickly she begins to trust. Give her a couple of days to realize shes safe, and youll start seeing a completely different little girl. Shes already wagging her tail for her foster mom, giving her sweet little kisses, and seeking her out for affection. Every day, a little more of her personality comes through.
Shes also such a good girl in the home! Delilah has not had a single accident in the house or her crate. She already understands her routine and will even come right over when she knows its time to go into her crate. Shes incredibly smart and seems eager to learn what this whole being a family dog thing is all about.
Delilah does wonderfully with other dogs and doesnt mind cats one bit. She hasnt quite figured out playing yet, but we have a feeling thats coming. Shes spent her entire life without the freedom to simply be silly and play, so shes learning all of those things for the very first time. We cant wait for the day she realizes just how much fun being a dog can be!
What Delilah needs most is a family willing to give her a little patience in the beginning. Dont rush her, just give her love, consistency, and the opportunity to feel safe. It wont be long before those tail wags and little kisses are reserved especially for you.
She also just received a dental through the rescue, so shes heading into this next chapter feeling fresh and ready for her new life! Delilah has spent enough of her life without knowing what it feels like to truly belong. Now its finally her turn to be spoiled, cuddled, cherished, and loved for the rest of her days. Shes such a gentle little sweetheart, and we know theres an incredible companion waiting to blossom underneath that initial shyness.
Delilah is spayed, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, and will come with her health certificate prior to adoption. Now we just need to find the people who will show this deserving girl what having a family is supposed to feel like.
